“ORIGINATORS OF HEAVEN”

One of the keys to influencing the kingdoms of the world is “originality.” The people of God must become the originators of their own creativity. We cannot keep waiting for other people to come up with unique ideas and then convert them into our own. We must become the originators of our own ideas. For years we have taken the music of the world and made it our own. We replace someone else lyrics with our lyrics. We take the ideas and expressions of Hollywood and label them with Christian titles and act as if the idea were original. For example, we take “American Idol” and turn it into “Christian Idol” and act like we are really clever. What’s up with that?

Originality is defined as, “fresh and unusual.” (Webster) Being original is the opposite of reproduction, clones and forgeries. Being original precedes all others in time. The process of an originator is much different than that of a duplicator. Being original is the foundation for future duplications; its sets a precedence for future generations. The process of introducing something fresh and new requires patience, perseverance, diligence, and faith. I’m not implying that we are not inspired by other people’s ideas, however, sooner or later, our own unique perceptions of life must become inspirational to others. Originality is the gateway to hidden paths of purpose and destiny. These paths give access to others to enter into the unique possibilities for their own lives. This nation was founded up upon unique ideas, discoveries, and experiences of others. This is the testimony of our forefathers in the Spirit. The origin of Moses and the burning bush opened the door to future spiritual possibilities. The parting of the Red Sea caused humanity to view God much differently. Joshua’s encounter with the walls of Jericho was certainly original. His action of faith commanding the sun to stand still was, without a doubt, an unusual act of faith. David’s boldness and courage toward Goliath was definitely a very unique response to a giant of a man, of whom everyone else was afraid. The originality of David’s tabernacle undoubtedly set a precedence for countless generations to come.

Prophecy is often susceptible to repetitive echoes. As a prophet, prophetess, or prophetic individual, you must be careful not to fall into the pit of prophetic mimicry. The popular forecasts of current and future events can be influential enough to steer you; even away from God’s original purpose for your life. In the midst of allowing patience to have its perfect work, it is easy to feel as though what you have in you is less than what others might have in them.

The bible speaks of a young prophet who was sent from Judah to Bethel to prophesy against the alter of Bethel; against the shrines in that region. This young prophet was given strict instructions by to God to return home in a certain manner.  An old prophet of Bethel heard about this young prophet from his sons. The old prophet went to the younger and deceived him into coming to his house to eat and drink, which the Lord had previously commanded the young prophet not to do. This act of disobedience resulted in the young prophet’s death. I believe the death of this prophet was primarily the result of an internal battle within himself. Let me explain. After previously displaying the power of God, he somehow lost the ability to maintain his course. This man of God, once determined to obey God at any cost, had now become vulnerable to the deception of an older prophet. Given the remorseful actions of the older prophet’s response to the younger’s death, he was most likely just wanting to meet this young prophet who had done what he himself failed to do. (1Kings 13:1-32)

Like this man of God, there are many who have reached a critical juncture in their lives. They are wondering if God really said what He said, and if He did, did He really mean it? Time can be your worst enemy or your best friend. It can help develop the intentions of God in you or rob you blind. Sometimes your greatest achievements can make you feel like you have the right to wonder off the previous path of divine instructions. I have heard many say, “Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is futile or insanity”. This might be true from a natural perspective, but not from a spiritual one. Everyday, though I might be doing the same thing, I am expecting something fresh and new every time. For years we have come together and worshipped the Lord and every time I am expecting something fresh, something unusual; something different.

Paul writes:

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. (Gal 6:9)

As mentioned earlier, this highly motivated man of God had previously displayed some powerful acts. The supernatural splitting of Bethel’s alter, the restoration of a withered hand, and an audience with the king. He definitely made his mark. He doesn’t even appear to be tempted by the kings invitation to dine with him, which also would of have been a direct violation to the Lord’s instructions for his return home. Yet later, after such an amazing display of power and discipline, he is somehow easily persuaded by an older prophet’s deceptive invitation. How can this be?

I have learned over the course of time that some of my greatest moments of operating in the power of God have the potential to later make me vulnerable to a spirit of deception and disobedience. Yes I know this is somewhat of an oxymoron. I have seen the same thing occur with other people in different situations, whether in business or the sports arena. They can encounter severe vulnerability on the heels of great success. There are times, not always, when I am so engaged with the glory and power of the Lord that both of my minds seemingly become one. In that moment, it feels as if the natural and spiritual man merge together in an uncanny way. All of my being is fixed on one thing and that is to respond to the sudden impulse of the Spirit, however, the aftermath of those times can create an unusual  battle within me. What previously felt like perfect unity suddenly becomes unraveled in my heart and mind. I’m struck with the stark reality that my carnal mind is truly enmity against God. (Rom 8:7) I am confronted with the frailty of my humanity. My weaknesses are amplified, they become more apparent. In that moment, I am more in tune with my own strength rather than His. It is as if my flesh is rebelling because, in that moment of glory, it was denied the right to be human. A spirit of deception whirls its lies at me, hoping to seduce me into a mind of spiritual inadequacy.

This is the critical juncture of identity. This is the test of vulnerability that many people are facing today. This is a moment of life and death where you are tempted to give your will over to something or someone else's that is not the direction God has for your life.  This is where you resolve the issue. It is the point of transition where the realm of originality is broken. This is when you must decide, “I am unique!” “I am fearfully and wonderfully made...” (Psalms 139:14) This is where you must conclude, “I will not be indebted to the rebellion of my flesh.”

Paul says it like this:

“Therefore, brethren, we are debtors not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh, for if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God, for you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father." (Rom 8:12-16)

While the Spirit of God continues to pour out on all flesh, spiritual leaders from every walk of life are currently being confronted with a major challenge, “Will I live according to the flesh or will I be led by the Spirit of God?” Choosing the latter is where the originators of God are born. These are the ones that are destined to lead nations into the kingdom of God. They are pressing forward with a fearless determination to break through the echoing realms of prophecy. They are coming forth with new ideas and understandings about the future. The power of origination is upon them so strong that they are redefining science, the world of entertainment, politics, education and every other kingdom in the world. They are capturing sounds from heaven that exhibit the love and power of God beyond the imagination of any other generation before them. Though they joyfully honor and respect those who have run the race before them, they will not give into the deceit of spiritual royalty. These are the initiators of a fresh and unusual move of the Spirit of God. They are the “originators of heaven.”

An Attitude That Overcomes The World

AN ATTITUDE THAT CAN OVERCOME THE WORLD

Maybe you have been wondering, ‘where is the hand of the Lord in this nation; in the nations?’ Maybe you are thinking that things appear to be getting worse, not better. On July 25th 2010 in Spokane Washington, I was reminded of a vision the Lord gave me about the government of this nation. I saw documents that were about to be signed into law, documents that were not in the best interest of the people in this nation. I saw a single hand laying on the documents, positioned to sign them into law, when suddenly the hand of the Lord appeared over the hand stopping it in motion. I heard the Lord say, “Enough of these ridiculous attempts to enslave the people of this nation.” I know we have been seeing some ugly things made into law and we will see a few more before the tide changes. Recently the Lord has reminded me that the ark of His covenant resides in this land. He reminded me that His presence and glory is resident in the hearts and minds of His people. Historically in times past, the enemy seized the ark of the Lord, but that will never happen again. Never again will any leader, or leaders for that matter, suppress the glory of the Lord. The very notion is absolutely absurd. Yes, these are some challenging times, but its not as if this nation and other nations in the world have not known what challenging times are. I just want to say, “Its time for the body of Christ to get an attitude.” Not a negative attitude, but a holy attitude that overcomes the world.  Its time to rise up and say to the spiritual forces at work, “Enough of this ridiculous behavior, you are not going to enslave me or this nation with your senseless governmental and ideologies.”  This is the kind of attitude that David had when he came to the scene of Goliath, sneering at the nation of Israel. Goliath was acting though Israel were helpless sheep cornered in a field of defeat. The entire setting was a picture of the little guy pushing agaisnt something much larger than himself. David didn’t stop to consider anything except that God was far greater than any stupid jesters coming from a giant philistine. David knew what challenging times were. He knew what it was to have to rely on the strength of the Lord. He knew how awesome his God really was. He knew what it was to live in communion with His God. He understood how valuable he was to the Lord and the Lord to him. I think David was repulsed by the King of Israel watching this mocking charade continue on. In the eyes of David this man called Goliath wasn’t just mocking Israel, he was mocking his God; the creator of the universe. David got a holy attitude real quick. His attitude was more than just saving a nation; he was ticked that anyone would have the audacity to talk about his Father that way. Come on! This isn’t just about you and me or this nation. This is about someone trying to demean your Daddy, your heavenly Father. What kind of person would just stand by and let someone degrade someone they love? Not me. Those are fighting words. When you really love someone you don’t just coward down, you don’t just sat there and let it happen. Imagine David waking up every day, tending the flock, singing songs unto the Lord, becoming more and more intimate with God. Then try to imagine him just standing idly by while some stranger, some God hater, talks like he is all that. Come on! Are we so caught up in the drama of life that we would allow someone to molest our daughters, our sons; rob them of their future inheritance? I think not.

THE SWORD OF THIS GENERATION

When I worship the Lord, I’m not singing a few songs for a feel me good moment. I am making a connection in the spirit. I’m taking on a relentless attitude that says, “I ain’t gonna let nothing stand in the way of me and my true love. I’m going to roar, not like a lion, but as a lion. I’m not some imitator trying to be something I’m not. I have the seal of God’s spirit in me. I am both man and son of God. I have been branded with a hot iron of eternal love and passion. There’s a time to cry before the Lord, intercede on behalf of a people, then there’s a time to say, “Enough is enough! You uncircumcised philistine, who do you think you are! You are nothing more than a mere grain of sand that can easily be washed away by the next coming tide.” Maybe you’re saying, “Michael, you’re not sounding very loving. God is a God of love. God is tender and kind.” Come on, you’ve got to be kidding me, this is love. This is the kind of love that makes you wild and crazy to see the kingdom of your Father rise up in the earth. This is the kind of the love that says, “I don’t care if it kills me, I’m going to declare, “This is the day of the Lord.” This is the kind of love that will develop an attitude deep in your spirit, the kind that will consider the well being of others over yourself. I’m talking about the kind of love that says, “Not only will I carry my cross, which is hard enough, but I have enough spirit in me to help you carry yours to.” Its time we hold up the sword of praise and worship, the sword of hope, the sword of promise; the sword of heaven. Its time to act like Jesus did when He said, “You don’t have the power to take my life; it’s yours because I give it to you.” (Matt 26:53) Who has the power to steal your destiny away? Who has the power to turn your future into dust? Who has the power to keep you from reigning as kings and priests in the earth? No one! No one! No power! No principality! Nada! Come on! I feel a holy attitude coming on. You are the sword of this generation. You are the heart beat of God in this nation and the world.

THE HELPER IN YOU

How many times I have cried, “Lord, please help me! Help this nation! Help your people!” Come on beloved, taste the sweetness. You’ve got to know that you are it. You are the help you are crying out for. Can you hear what I am saying? The Helper is in you. The Helper is in your words of faith. The Helper is assigned to you day in and day out. When you are sleeping the Helper is watching over you. The Helper is waiting for you and me to get a holy attitude. Not an attitude that comes from the soul, but one that comes from the kingdom of heaven. You are the flower child of 2010. You have the power to color the world with everlasting hope. You have what the world needs. You know what I’m saying. Love sweet love! When is the last time you woke up and looked at all the opposition surrounding you and said, “Enough of this crap! Get out of my face! Get out of my space! Get away from me! Get away from my children! Get…your…ugly…booty…out…of…my…house!  Come on! That’s the attitude I’m talking about, the kind that won’t lie down, shut up or play dead…the kind that refuses to live in a pool of self pity. Sometimes the only way to kick the “woe is me” attitude out of me is to kick my own butt into another way of thinking; another way of hearing and seeing.

THE HOLY HUSH

Right now I feel a holy hush coming into this nation, a holy hush coming into the world. The kind of holy hush that silent’s the voice of the enemy. The kind that Jesus released when He spoke to the wind and sea, “Hush, be still, be quiet.”  The kind of holy hush that reveals the peace of God in you, the kind that surpasses all understanding. What is that sound, that song I hear, stirring in the darkest hour of your life? “Hush little baby you don’t you cry, daddy’s going to sing you a lullaby, and if that lullaby isn’t enough, then daddy will shower you with more of His love.” I know many of you who are reading this have never had a mother or father sing over you in the night. You never knoe what was to be cradled in the arms of someone who loves you more than anything else.  I have no memories of those times in my life, though I know my mother and father love me. However, I have heard my heavenly Father sing these songs to me, time and time again. He has sung to me with such force that I have felt His love pass through me like a violent wind. Even in the worst hours of my life I have felt His heart beat, the moving of His breast against my face. I know what is to be afraid, to feel so fragile that the breath of life would escape me. This is where the holy violence in me comes from. This is where this attitude of relentless love and passion is birthed. This is the kind of holy attitude that is coming upon this nation and other nations across the world. They have heard their Father sing to them in the quiet of the night. They have experienced the showers of His love. They will not shrink back. They will not give into the senseless mindless attitudes that the world has to offer. They know emphatically the gates of hell will not prevail as the kingdom of God continues to increase in the earth.

“Be made new (renewed) in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Eph 4:23-24
