"THE SIGNS OF RUBEN"

The following is a recent news report from ABC News:

“Ruben van Assouw, the 9-year-old Dutch boy sole survivor of the plane crash in Libya last week, is doing well and is expected to make a full recovery, the boy's family said in a statement released this morning. "He has had a bite to eat and has been watching a little TV," the statement read. "It is incredible how quickly he is improving."
“Their youngest son was the only survivor of the fiery wreck that killed all 103 other passengers onboard. Rescue workers found Ruben still strapped in his seat near the front of the plane, unconscious, but breathing. The boy was flown back to the Netherlands by Libyan ambulance jet on Saturday, accompanied by two doctors and his aunt and uncle, who had traveled to Tripoli to be at their nephew's side. Ruben's parents, Patrick, 40, and Trudy, 41, along with his 11-year-old brother Enzo also died in the plane crash.”
A single survivor in horrific circumstances causes many to wonder, how and why? How does one person survive when everyone else perishes, and why? These are the questions that are currently being asked right now in regards to this recent plane crash. While they might never discover the mechanics of why these unusual survivals occur, I believe it is our reasonable service as citizens of the kingdom of God to hear what the Spirit is saying, and offer up some spiritual insight as to the unique causes or outcome behind such horrific events. So let me start out by saying, “I have no insight as to why I think this event occurred. Whether it is the result of pilot error or mechanical failure still remains yet to be seen. However, I do have some insight as to the intentions of God on behalf of one little Dutch boy.
First of all the Hebrew origin for Ruben or Reuben is, “behold my son.” The meaning of this name also implies elevation. This means the son of God is being lifted up.  There are a few basic things I would like to note about the life of Reuben in the bible.
1)     He was the firstborn son of Jacob, born to Leah in Paddan Aram (Gen 29:31-32; 35:23).
2)     Leah named her first son Reuben because the Lord had looked upon her sorrow at being unloved by her husband. By presenting a son to Jacob, she hoped he would respond to her in love.
3)     Reuben was the one who advised his brothers not to kill their younger brother. He suggested that they merely bind him, which would have allowed him to return later to release Joseph to his father (Gen 37:20-22).
4)     Reuben reminded his brothers that all their troubles and fears in Egypt were their just reward for mistreating Joseph (Gen 42:22).
5)     Reuben offered his own two sons as a guarantee that he would personally tend to the safety of Benjamin on the next trip to Egypt (Gen 42:37)
6)     Reuben became involve in incest with Bilhah, his father's concubine, thus losing his birthright as first born. (Gen 35:22) (Deut 21:17).
So let’s prophetically sum up the information at hand. Ruben, the only survivor of this plane crash is an indication that the sons of God are being elevated in this hour. It is also a prophetic proclamation that says, “If I am lifted up from the earth, (The glory of Jesus Christ) I will draw all peopleto myself. “All people” refers to all nations. Ruben represents a unique season in the spirit when all nations are being drawn by the spirit of the Lord unlike any other time in the history of the church.  Reuben appeared at a time when Leah was feeling unloved which caused her to fall into great sorrow; therefore God gave her a child. Ruben represents an hour in the earth when God is saying, “I have heard your prayers. I am here to take your sorrow; your mourning away. I am here to fill that empty void in your life with hope. I am here to give you life.” Reuben stepped up to persuade his brothers not to kill Joseph. Therefore, the surviving Ruben represents a time of divine intervention; of great intercession. We are about to see unusual interventions of the spirit. Divine interruptions will suddenly occur on your behalf and on behalf of this nation and other nations across the world. While many have postured themselves for the worst, the best of God’s intentions are about to be realized. A spirit of death has being pressing hard against the hearts and minds of God’s people, trying to get them to abort their purpose in God. God is telling His people, “You will not die, do not give up; trust in me.” Reuben was a reminder that the troubles and fears of his brothers was the result of what they had done to Joseph. Through this young Dutch survivor, God is telling the world that a spirit of conviction is coming upon this nation at an unprecedented level. Our eyes are about to be opened to the reality of our true condition in the spirit. This not a spirit of condemnation, but it’s a spirit of conviction. Conviction is one of the primary functions of the Holy Spirit. (John 16:8-11) The spirit of conviction reveals the errors of our ways; the spirit of condemnation wants to punish us for it. Jesus did not come to punish us, which was the work of the law, but He came to deliver us from the punishment of sin and death. (John 3:17)
Reuben was willing to offer up his greatest treasures in life, his two sons, on behalf of Benjamin, Jacob’s youngest son. This surviving Ruben represents the guarantee of God’s spirit given to us through His only Son; His greatest treasure. Benjamin, son of the right hand, symbolizes a glorious generation that will walk in a love and power the earth has never witnessed before. Countless people will reap from the fields of the spirit of Reuben who was willing to offer all he had as a guarantee for a better tomorrow.
In light of all the great qualities previously mentioned, this 9 year old boy is a sober reminder that the “last shall be first and first last.” (Matt 20:16) In the end, Reuben had given himself over to a spirit of perversion; incest. This single act resulted in Reuben not receiving the blessing of the first born. He did not receive his birth right to inherit the double portion which had been designated for him.  Unfortunately there will be men and women who have given the Lord years of their life who will, end the end, give themselves over to a spirit of perversion that will rob them of their intended purpose in God. A perverted spirit has infiltrated the government of this nation; multiple kingdoms of the world, as well as, the government of the church. Yet, this spirit will not prevail. To every one person that is giving themselves over to these blinding pleasures of life, ten more will rise up in full devotion their King.
Lastly, I would like you to recognize one important note mentioned about Ruben in the news article above: "It is incredible how quickly he is improving." The Lord is saying to you and me; to the entire world, this nation is on the road to a quick recovery. Many have lost so much and feel very broken, but I have heard the Lord say “Your recovery will be very expedient!” I can hear the Spirit say, “Right when it appears like things are not going to change, suddenly they will. Just when it appears as though another dark curtain is being drawn down upon this nation, suddenly the light will break through!”
Arise; shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the LORD will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Isa 60:1-3

Let The Other Church Die

LET THE CHURCH DIE

We were in Leavenworth Washington on August 6, 2010. During a time of intensity I began to prophecy about the death of the church. (Audio 2) I must admit I was a bit disturbed by what was coming out of my mouth. The Lord said, “Let it die! Let the church die! Let it die.” The spirit of the Lord says, “If you will let it die, if you will let it die, I will raise it up and I will build the church the way I intended it to be all theses years. So let it die” says the spirit of the Lord. “Stop trying to keep alive what I am killing in this time and this hour. Let My people go! And let the church rise!”

On the surface, words like these can seem a bit harsh and offensive. I felt a spirit of offense rise when I spoke this word that night. I think for the most part it’s perfectly normal for people to react in such a way. Immediately you think, ‘God loves the church! Why would He try to kill it?’ I don’t think this is an unreasonable question to ask. I pondered this word over the course of a few days. As I did, I gained more insight as to it true meaning.  When Jesus was in the earth introducing His Father and His kingdom to the people, there were those who were constantly trying to fashion Him according to their expectations of what or who they thought He should be. Some wanted to build a temple for Him, while others wanted to make Him a king. There were others who even wanted to own his unique gifts of healing and understanding. Their ideologies, philosophies, eschatology’s, and unbelief, prevented them from seeing His intended purpose for coming to the earth. Jesus knew that He had been commissioned by His Father to die. He knew this was the only way for an ancient veil to be ripped away from the hearts and minds of the people. Jesus knew there had to be a death before there could be a resurrection; before there could be a new beginning. Paul reminds us in his writings that before something becomes new, old things have to pass away. (2Cor 5:16-17) The symbols of “old things” are often referred to as works of the flesh. Whenever Jesus spoke about His death, I imagined some of His disciples covering their ears, making loud noises as if to say, ‘I can’t hear you.’

The time came when Jesus began to telling His disciples that He would suffer many things from the religious system of the church. He told them that He would be killed and that He would be raised again on the third day. When Peter heard this He pulled Jesus aside and rebuked Him, saying, “God forbid it, Lord! This will never happen to you.”Peter obviously had difficulty processing the death and life of Jesus, especially His resurrection. Evidently the only thing that registered in Peter’s mind was that Jesus was going to be killed. Jesus in turn says to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God's interests, but man's." (Matt 16:21-23) I remember reading this for the first time thinking, “That sure is a harsh thing to say to someone you love and who loves you.”I have since learned that God is less tolerable than we might think toward those who stand in His way.The response of Peter toward Jesus is very similar to many leaders in the church today. It’s so easy to become blinded by our own interests that we fail to recognize the necessary death that must occur before the new church is born. Like some of the earlier disciples I think many have covered their ears refusing to hear about the necessary death that lies ahead; a death that must take place before another glorious church appears in the earth. Just as the death of Jesus was necessary for the advancement of the kingdom of God, so the death of a church that is more conscience of itself than its relevance to the kingdom of God, must die.

In the word of prophecy the Lord said, “If you will let it die, I will raise it up.” Apparently the Lord is looking for some cooperation from church leadership. Now make no mistake about this request, one way or another, its death is unavoidable. I thank it would be fair to assume the last thing any of us want to be is a stumbling block toward the intentions of God. It is just as apparent that we are facing the same circumstances within the government of our own nation. There are many ancient systems from within that need to die. There are ideologies at work that once had life, but they don’t have life no more. Such were the days of Moses, the rule and government of God in his day had glory, but it has no glory today. It has no glory today because of a greater glory that has exceeded it. ( 2Cor 3:7-11)  I’m not sure what would sadden the forefathers of this nation more, those who are trying to take God out of the center of this nation, or those who are refusing to conform to a greater glory; a greater government that is destined to replace the ancient tutors of yester years. Obviouly both are reckless and very self motivated. We need to be reminded that a king, a queen, a president, or prime minister was not the initial intentions of God. In the days of Samuel the people looked around at other lands being governed by something other than the priests of God. So they said, “We want a king like they have.” (1Samuel 8:19-22) Such is the reason for our kind of government today; men and women wanting to rule over the people of this nation as dictators, serving their own interests. Yet God is looking for those who have a priestly anointing, whose hearts are set on serving His interests. So, hear the word of the Lord, “Let the self motivated relgion of church die. Let the portion of the church that has been built by the works of the flesh die. Stop trying to keep it alive. Let it die and He will raise up a much more glorious church; a glorious government, unlike anything this world has ever known.”
