THE UNIVERSAL IMPACT OF KINGDOM AUTHORITY

Early in the morning the Lord was stirring me about the movement that was taking place in the cosmos and in the earth. There are some movements that occur simply because of the natural flow of creation. Since the beginning of time there has always been the process of “cause and effect.” From the falling of a star to plates shifting in the earth, the universe; the earth, is always moving. Some movements are the result of natural causes. For example, an embankment can suddenly give way to due to natural decay or an abundance of rain. Time, in itself, has the power to not only erode earthly elements, but particles in space as well. However, there are other erosions that are the result of spiritual influences. The heavens and earth can move; shift, and change because of spiritual forces at work. There seems to be more movement today in the cosmos than any other recorded time in history. Part of this is due to the expansion of technology which has enabled us to capture enormous movements in space. Technology has also enhanced our ability to detect movement in the earth, far beyond anyone’s previous comprehension. There is also another kind of detection that captures movement and that is the operation of the spirit. God has given mankind a sense of extraterrestrial perception to detect various movements that are out of the reach of any human technology. Some of this spiritual detection is possible through the gift of prophetic foresight. With the gift of seeing, hearing future movement can be captured by the foreknowledge of the spirit of God. On the other side of this understanding of spiritual detection, lies the question of why. What is this unnatural movement all about? Why are the outer limits of space moving in such an unusual manner? Why does the earth seem to be acting so violently?
Paul writes:
“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse…” Rom 1:20
According to this passage of scripture all of creation reveals the invisible attributes of the glory and power of God. They clearly manifest the power of the Godhead, visibly and inwardly. Because of these divine attributes that have been embedded in all of creation, like a giant magnet, their movement is in response to the presence and glory of God increasing in the earth. In short, all of creation is being moved by insatiable hunger for the heart of God that is increasing in the earth. So you could say, without a doubt, the increasing habitation of God’s love in the hearts of His people is moving heaven and earth. However, there’s another force of influence that is also capable of causing unwanted movement in the world and that is the force of dark habitation. Unlike the movement that is responding to positive forces, there are other movements that are the result of negative forces. We live in a world that is constantly subject to the natural and spiritual forces that are at work. So the next question we should be asking is, “How do we counteract these negative forces that are crating havoc in the world we live in? What are our limitations against such forces? First of all, there are no limitations against negative influences, whether natural or spiritual. Mind you, I know we are surrounded by all kinds of limitations, but the spiritual resources that are available to us are without measure. Having said that let me draw some discussion with this example.
When Jesus and the disciples were in a boat crossing over from one shore to another, a great storm arose. During this storm, Jesus was asleep. After the storm became more violent, the disciples fearing for their lives, woke Jesus up.
When they did Jesus responded in this manner;
“Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, "Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?" And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, "Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!" (Mark 4:39-41)
Now let’s put this in perspective. They are in a storm on a boat and Jesus rebukes the wind and commands the sea to be still. Most likely this storm was the result of every other storm at sea; natural high and low atmospheric pressures at work. Yet, regardless of its cause, Jesus still had the authority to interrupt these natural forces of nature, bringing them into submission to His will. Creation has no will of its own. It does not govern itself. It is not self conscious of its movements. It’s governed by natural and spiritual surroundings, all of which were put in place by God. I understand that the natural conditions of today are much different than they were prior to the pre-flood days of Noah. Therefore, the weather is different, the planet is acting different; the world is different. But try telling that Jesus. None of that mattered to Him. When Jesus decided to intervene and command the wind and waters to be still, they had no choice, but to obey. Jesus is our ultimate example of authority and power. Before he departed he left us with one of many encouraging words, one of them being,
“I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father, and I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” (John 14:12-14)
Wow! How cool is that! This is not a time to speak to the many movements in the world that are contrary to the will of the Father and say, “its not working!” Instead, its time to keep on declaring, keep on prophesying the word of the Lord, knowing that any moment, the heavens above and earth below will move according to the love and power of God working in us. Again, I am reminded of the words of Elisha. After commanding the water to fill the ditches of the king, Elisha said, “This is an easy thing in the eyes of the LORD…” (2Kings 3:18) I think most of us know what it is like to face circumstances that look impossible to overcome. We need the mind of Elisha. It’s time at your current circumstances and declare, “This is an easy thing in the eyes of the Lord.” It’s time we look at the current condition of our nation and declare, “This is a very simple thing for God to fix.” The entire universe is postured to move at our command. All of creation is ready to respond to the faith of God that is working in us. We have shifted into another realm of kingdom authority never before witnessed by any other generation. Come on God!
